Object Tracking for a Healthcare SaaS Platform: We developed an advanced object tracking system for a healthcare SaaS platform, focused on enhancing quality control and driving quality improvement in healthcare operations. The system uses SAM2 and YOLO models to track the pipeline.

Multimodal Reasoning System for Market Research: We built an AI system capable of reasoning over multiple data types—audio, images, and text—to provide insights in the domain of market research and competitive intelligence, enabling a deeper understanding of market dynamics for an AI SaaS platform. The system uses Whisper, a VLM and an LLM to perform reasoning over the dataset.

Large-Scale Document Parsing Solution: We created a large-scale parser that ingests data from single-page PDFs and outputs it directly into Apache Cassandra. This solution is designed for a SaaS platform that needs efficient and scalable document processing, significantly streamlining data handling and storage.

In November 2024, the AI community witnessed several significant open-source model releases. Here are five notable additions:

Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP): Anthropic introduced MCP, an open-source tool designed to connect AI assistants directly to various data sources. By providing a universal protocol, MCP eliminates the need for custom code for each dataset, enabling seamless integration across various AI applications. Early adopters, including Replit, Codeium, and Sourcegraph, have begun utilizing MCP to enhance their AI agents' capabilities. Qwen with Questions (QwQ): In November 2024, Alibaba's Qwen team introduced QwQ-32B-Preview, a reasoning-focused AI model with 32.5 billion parameters and a context window accommodating up to 32,000 tokens. This model has demonstrated superior performance over OpenAI's o1-preview in benchmarks such as AIME and MATH, highlighting its advanced problem-solving capabilities. Released under the Apache 2.0 license, QwQ-32B-Preview is accessible for commercial use.

OLMo 2: The Allen Institute for AI (Ai2) has released OLMo 2, a family of fully open-source language models available in 7 billion (7B) and 13 billion (13B) parameter configurations. Performance evaluations indicate that OLMo 2 models are competitive with leading open models like Meta's Llama 3.1. Notably, the OLMo 2 7B model outperforms Llama 3.1 8B on several English language benchmarks.

Lightricks' LTX Video (LTXV): Lightricks launched LTXV, an open-source AI model capable of generating high-quality videos in real-time on consumer hardware, challenging proprietary systems from tech giants and democratizing access to advanced video generation tools.

OpenGPT-X's Multilingual Model: OpenGPT-X research project released Teuken-7B, a multilingual open-source language model trained from scratch in all 24 official European Union languages.
